South Lake Landing

Nestled in California's Eastern Sierra region, the majestic 175 acre South Lake is extraordinarily scenic. Well stocked weekly with Rainbow Trout, South Lake also has a variety of wild Brown, Brook, and Rainbow trout providing spectacular fishing opportunities for both the conventional and fly fisher. Trophy Trout weighing upwards of 10lbs are also stocked periodically during the summer months. South Lake Boat Landing is located in the Inyo National Forest and features a store stocked with tackle, snacks, beverages, and clothing. Our friendly staff can help you with renting a fishing boat and outfitting you with the tackle necessary to hook into one of the big ones. Motorboat, tandem kayaks and pontoon boats are also available depending on the water level and season.

South Lake is an easy 22 miles west of Bishop, CA sitting at 9,768 feet of elevation.

Please note that South Lake is a reservoir and lake levels fluctuate considerably depending on the season, snow pack, runoff, Los Angeles DWP diversions, irrigation requirements and dam maintenance by Southern California Edison. South Lake Landing and Parchers Resort is not liable for the lake's water level as these factors are completely out of our control. Please visit our fish report page for updates on current water level and, when available, reservoir storage forecasts.
