About the Parchers Cabins

All of our beautiful housekeeping cabins have showers, hot water, propane heat & modern plumbing include flush toilets. Towels, bedding, linens, and pillows are included with all cabins except our Hiker Cabins. We also provide organic bar soap and toilet paper. We do not provide shampoo or provide daily maid service. Fresh towels and sheets are available at the main office for a nominal fee. Maid service can be requested for an additional charge. Each cabin has its own fire pit and campfires are allowed (weather permitting).

Cabins with kitchenettes are furnished with the following kitchen implements:

1 Pot, 1 Fry pan/skillet, 1 sauce pan, 1 percolator style coffee pot, silverware, cutlery, spatulas, mixing spoon, bowls & plates, cups & mugs, a cutting board, refrigerator/freezer, dish soap, scrubbing pad and a range. Our Mountain Cabins, Deluxe Cabin, and Paradise Cabins are also equipped with an oven. We do not allow cooking inside of Cabin 1 or 6. Items such as ice, coffee, coffee filters, salt and pepper, cooking oil or paper towels are not provided but are available for purchase in the store. Firewood for campfires is not provided, but folks are welcome to bring some from home or purchased bundled wood from our store.

There are no telephones inside the cabins but we do have a payphone at the resort for which a calling card is recommended. There is no cell phone, television or radio reception in our canyon, and it is a beautiful thing!!! Moderate cell phone reception is available a few miles down the canyon for most carriers.

We do not currently have Wi-Fi available for guests. Because of the remoteness of our location, satellite internet is our only option and due to the strict usage limitations of satellite internet carriers, we cannot provide wireless internet to our customers at this time (but we’re working on it).

Electrical Usage

Parchers Resort has a fully self-contained electrical system as the remoteness of our location requires that we generate our own electricity via a hydroelectric generator. This is both environmentally friendly as well as efficientHowever, we do have a finite amount of electricity to power the resort so we ask that guests refrain from using any high-usage electronic devices such as electric heaters, toasters, microwaves, hair driers or electric coffee makers while at the resort. We do not recommend the use of sensitive electronic equipment (computers etc.) as we do have occasional power surges from our generator. Our RV hookups have been outfitted with 20 amp fuses to prevent any power interruptions. Our generators are periodically shut down for regular maintenance so the use of sensitive electronic equipment (computers etc.) is not recommended. Parchers Resort accepts no liability for damage to electronic devices due to power surges. Life support devices such as dialysis machines etc. are not recommended under any circumstances!

About Our Location

Parchers Resort is located in the Inyo National Forest at 9,260ft of elevation. If you are sensitive to high altitude, you may want to consult your physician before visiting. Our location in the National Forest offers the benefit of awe-inspiring scenery.  However, being in such a rural area also brings with it wildlife such as chipmunks, field mice, marmots, birds, bears and moths.  This wildlife, of course, can make your stay with us special, but every once in a while a chipmunk or field mouse has been known to get curious and explore the insides of a cabin. This is also bear country; please act accordingly.

High Country Weather

High country weather is very unpredictable but seasonal highs average in the 70’s during the summer and in the 50’s or 60’s in the spring and fall. Average lows are in the high 40’s during the summer and in the low 30’s in the spring and fall. High and low temps can fluctuate drastically from week to week and day to day so we always recommend that our guests come prepared for both cold and warm conditions to insure a pleasant stay.  Early season and late season snow, and summer thunderstorms, are part of what make the Sierra Nevada amazing, don’t be surprised if they visit while you’re here.

Parchers Resort & South Lake Boat Landing does not assume liability for weather conditions, snowpack, road conditions and refunds will not be provided for conditions out of our control. Sorry, no exceptions!

Water Conditions

Please be advised that creek flows and reservoir levels in the Bishop Creek Canyon fluctuate based on season, snowpack, runoff, Los Angeles DWP diversions, irrigation requirements and infrastructure maintenance by Southern California Edison.

Parchers Resort & South Lake Boat Landing is not liable for the water level or water conditions as these factors are totally out of our control.  Refunds will not be provided based on these conditions.

Pets

Parchers Resort is dog friendly so long as the dog is friendly. There is a $10 per night fee for each pet. Cats are not permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Guests must always clean up after their pet while on the resort grounds. To prevent damage to our cabins, dogs are not allowed to be left unattended inside a cabin at any time. If you do choose to leave your pet behind while you’re out fishing or exploring, keep them tethered outside of the cabin in a shady spot or in a kennel. We ask that guests keep their pets off of our beds and bedding at all times. Sorry, due to prior incidents at the resort we do not allow pit bulls or pit mixes – regardless of how friendly.

Medical Notice

Our elevation at the resort is 9,260ft and many of the hiking trails go above 11,000ft.  If you have a heart condition, breathing problems or any condition that may cause sensitivity to high altitudes, it is suggested that you check with your physician before to making a reservation or visiting Parchers resort. Parchers Resort does not assume any liability for illness caused by the altitude and refunds will not be provided. Sorry, no exceptions!

Projectile Devices

The use of slingshots, BB guns, paintball guns, pellet guns, firearms and Airsoft guns is strictly prohibited at Parchers Resort and in the surrounding area. Anyone seen shooting at area wildlife, littering the forest with Airsoft pellets or vandalizing the forest in any way will be immediately reported to the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department, California Department of Fish and Game, or the US Forest Service.

General Policies

Check-in time is 3pm. Sorry, no early check-ins.

Check-out time is 10am.

A 12% Inyo county bed tax will be added to all cabin rates.

All dishes used during your stay must be cleaned and interior trash receptacles and the refrigerator must be emptied before check-out. There is a $50 cleaning fee if this is not done.
