Improvements For 2007,
Parchers Resort has added three additional cabins to the camp, the Hiker
Cabins. Guests who stayed with us in the fall of 2006 may remember us
preparing these cabins for rental. In the spring of 2007
we finished these units and they are now online. These
affordable cabins sleep up to 4 persons and our unique
2-night maximum policy with no minimum during the peak
months of July & August means that backpackers and
hikers looking to acclimate for a night before their
trip now have a comfortable option. |

2007 has also seen the completion of the remodel of our
rustic Cabin 6 into the Cowboy Cabin. Knotty pine, new carpet, new
flooring, new furnishings and western themed decor provide a cozy atmosphere
that the ideal location of this cabin deserves. We kept the work in the
family as our nephew Wade Gervais of Canby Oregon came down for the remodel.
His workmanship and attention to detail is immediately evident when entering
the cabin.

2006 Improvements During our first season at Parchers Resort we were able
to complete a host of refurbishing and remodeling projects in an effort to
improve the aesthetic aspects of the camp while preserving the rustic
mountain charm evident when visiting the resort. The list of projects we
completed last year is too long to cover here but we have highlighted some
of the improvements that we are most proud of. Cabin 30, originally the general store in the 1980's and
then staff housing for the better part of the last decade was totally
remodeled into our Deluxe Mountain Cabin. This cabin is our largest
and finest cabin with added amenities not previously available at Parchers.
A cabin that sleeps up to six persons with a full kitchen, living room and
outdoor patio, Cabin 30's completion was a great addition to the camp. Cabin 30 the "Deluxe Mountain

Over the course of the 2006 season the interiors of Cabins 21,
22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 28 were all done in knotty pine and received new
kitchen cabinets. This project took all year to complete with the last
remodel, Cabin 26, wrapping up on October 20th 2006. As you can see, these
cabins look fantastic. We were thrilled to have our nephew Wade Gervais from
Canby Oregon stay with us for most of the fall to oversee this process.
Along with our own Evan Smith, they were able to complete a cabin each week
in September and October with excellent quality. All 14 original cabins at the resort were
also refurnished and
redecorated including new photography, classic outdoor art, night stands,
bed spreads and new lamps to give our cabins a classic mountain feel. All
buildings on the property also received new exterior paint and new metal roofs
which adds to the overall appearance of Parchers.

In 2006 we removed the old playground equipment that was
adjacent to the Old Lodge Fireplace and put in a gathering area and stage.
The old Parcher House Lodge that used to stand on the property before it
was taken down by snow in the late 1960's, was a hub where guests and locals
would gather to play cards, exchange stories or relax by the fire. Although
we could not rebuild the old lodge, we felt that a gathering area was
important to the whole of Parchers Resort. Although now in an outdoor
setting, folks can once again gather around the old lodge fireplace. The
gathering area can be reserved for family reunions, company retreats or
fishing club events. Also, each Saturday evening during the peak season,
folks can pull up a chair by the twin fireplaces and watch a campfire
program put on by the Inyo National Forest. These campfire programs are a memorable time
for children and adults alike.
