Welcome to South Lake in Bishop, CA!

Nestled in California's Eastern Sierra region, the majestic 170 acre South Lake is extraordinarily scenic. Well stocked with a variety of Brown, Brook, and Rainbow trout, the fishing is spectacular. South Lake Boat Landing is located in the Inyo National Forest and features a store stocked with tackle, snacks, beverages and film. Our people can help you with renting a fishing boat and outfitting you with the tackle necessary to hook into one of the big ones.

South Lake is stocked by the California Department of Fish & Game with rainbow trout, including the well-known Eagle Lake Rainbows. Large loads of the famous Alpers Trophy trout are also stocked every other week and will put a bend in even the sturdiest rod. In addition, South Lake Boat Landing has benefited from past rearing programs for Brown Trout and its depths contain some of the biggest, baddest Browns in the Sierra. South Lake has become famous for these prized monsters. South Lake is an easy 20 miles west of Bishop, CA sitting at 9,800 feet of elevation.

Boat reservations can be made by calling the Parchers Resort office at 760-873-4177. All boat reservations must be prepaid and are non-refundable.
